Fiona Armstrong: biography
Fiona Armstrong, Lady MacGregor of MacGregor is a writer, broadcaster, newscaster and journalist. She has been a presenter and reporter for both ITN and BBC News. Her work ranges from news to features to sport. Currently she is presenting on ITV’s Border Life which received an ITV award for Best Current Affairs programme for her report on the Lockerbie air disaster.
Fiona has also covered global issues such as the plight of Aids orphans in Africa, the clearing of land mines in Cambodia, and the deployment of the Mercy ships in West Africa.
Closer to home she has fronted a diverse range of programmes on topics including domestic abuse, a countryside series, and fishing (she is one of the best female anglers in the UK).
Fiona writes about Tartan life in columns for magazines and newspapers. and has written books about fishing, and cookery. She is currently writing a book about a family member who was the literary confidante of Queen Victoria.
Fiona is married to a Scottish clan chief, and she is Lord-Lieutenant of Dumfries.
